Details of the damage to Llandaff are sparse, but we do know the gothic pinnacles of the Jasper Tower (now restored) were blown down and through the roof of the nave, and terminal structural damage was done to the original South West tower (now the site of the spire), resulting in it collapsing entirely in 1722, demolishing most of the nave in the process.
